Cheers is one of the most beloved and enduring TV shows of the late 80s. The show ran until 1993 and focused on a dive bar called Cheers located in Boston Massachusetts and locals and staff spending their days frequenting the low bar.The lead single characters and the bar itself quickly went down in pop culture history and to this day fans watch Cheers when they want to enjoy a great show that sums up all the good about the entertainment scene of the 80s and early 90s. Shelley Long played Diane Chambers on Cheers a sweet and sometimes busy woman whose onandoff relationship with Sam formed the basis for many of the shows early storylines. She went on to appear on television shows such as Cheers spinoff Frasier Modern Family and Murphy Brown. Kelsey Grammer played psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane on Cheers from 1984 until 1993. Regularly Frasier became one of the most popular characters on the show and in 1993 Grammer began acting in his own spinoff series Frasier.
Grammer also became known as a popular actor working in Broadway productions and embarking on a prolific career as a vocal performer.George Wendt may not be the most popular name on the Cheers cast list but to many viewers his character Norm is indispensable. He was a normal bartender Norm seemed to use only one word often shouting Beer! When he wanted to refill. Wendt has received several award nominations for his work on Cheers and has gone on to appear in a number of films and TV shows. These days Wendt is still acting most recently appearing in films like Stealing a Survivor and VFW.
