Screen Rant has an exclusive clip from Snowpiercer season 3s premiere showing Bennett Knox Iddo Goldberg caught in a crisis outside of the train. Snowpiercer season 3 returns on Monday January 24 2022 at 9 pm on TNT. Picking up months after Snowpiercer season 2s finale Ben is part of the team led by Andre Layton Daveed Diggs that stole Snowpiercers Eternal Engine from Mr. Wilford Sean Bean and created a separate 10car pirate train.
Snowpiercer season 2 ended with Mr. Wilford purposefully leaving his rival Melanie Cavill Jennifer Connelly outside in the snow. Melanie left Snowpiercer during season 2 and traveled to a Colorado research station to prove her theory that the Earth is beginning to get warmer and may become livable again. But while Melanie was away Wilford took over control of Snowpiercer from Layton. To save Melanie Layton Ben Bess Till Mickey Sumner Josie Wellstead Katie McGuinness and Melanies daughter Alexandra Rowan Blanchard took Wilfords paramour Miss Audrey Lena Hall hostage and stole the Eternal Engine to get Melanie. Tragically they only found Melanies data and Cavill is now believed to be dead. To honor Melanies dream Layton decided to search the Earth for the warm spots located by her data.
In Screen Rants exclusive clip Bennett finds himself in danger after he left Snowpiercer to investigate a frozen area in Korea thats supposedly one of Melanies warm spots. Meanwhile Layton Josie monitor his progress from the trains cockpit while Alex tries to fix the malfunctioning engine. You can watch the clip below.
Most of Snowpiercer takes place aboard the Great Ark Trains 1034 cars so Bennetts excursion outside is obviously dangerous. The Engineers Breacher suit only has a limited amount of oxygen so a rescue attempt by Layton and his team will have to happen fast. Any time Snowpiercers characters leave the train to face the elements adds an extra layer of excitement to their already perilous adventures because only Josie has cold immunity. In addition Ben fell into some sort of facility which indicates just how much snow has fallen on Earth since an entire building was buried and undetected until Knox crashed through its frozen ceiling.
With Snowpiercers passengers divided between the loyalists who followed Layton and those who stayed behind to be ruled by Mr. Wilford it remains to be seen when and how the two trains will be reunited in season 3. Snowpiercer season 3 is also introducing a mysterious new character named Asha played by Archie Panjabi so she may also appear in the season 3 premiere titled The Tortoise and the Hare. Meanwhile Jennifer Connelly is part of Snowpiercer season 3s promotional materials and trailer even though Melanie Cavill is believed dead so how Connellys heroine will factor into Snowpiercer season 3 is another big question to be answered.
