Castlevania Cosplay Captures Trevor Belmont in All His Demon-Slaying Glory

Trevor Belmont, Last Son of the House of Belmont, is brought to life through an incredible new cosplay that features one of his most powerful weapons.

An incredible new cosplay has captured the aesthetic and vibe of Trevor Belmont, Last Son of the House of Belmont, from Netflix’s Castlevania. A picture of the cosplay was uploaded on Reddit by user NightmareArea, and it showcases a stunning recreation of Trevor’s general design throughout Netflix’s adaptation of the dark fantasy series, including a fur-covered cloak and the Morningstar whip. While difficult to see in the picture, the cosplay does include the Belmont crest emblazoned on the shirt. One commentator suggested taking pictures from different angles to better show off all the details, and the cosplayer responded, saying, “maybe I will post another one in the future…need to wait until the photographer finishes the editing.”

Based on the iconic video game franchise of the same name, Castlevania made its debut in July 2017 and ultimately produced 32 episodes across four seasons. The story sees Count Vlad Dracula Tepes declare war against the people of Wallachia (and eventually humanity as a whole) after Lisa Tepes, his wife, is burned at the stake after false accusations of witchcraft are brought against her. In order to stop the slaughter and mayhem, Dracula’s son, Adrian Tepes, also known as Alucard, teams up with outcast monster hunter Trevor Belmont and Speaker magician Sypha Belnades to stop his father.

Castlevania was a massive financial and critical success upon release. The first season was one of the top 20 most in-demand digital series in 2017 in several countries around the world, including the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, France and Australia, and within a year, the show reportedly accumulated nearly 30 million global viewers.

A sequel series, Castlevania: Nocturne, has been greenlit and is currently in production; an official premiere date for the show has not been announced as of the time of writing. Nocturne is set several hundreds of years after the conclusion of the original series and will follow the adventures of Richter Belmont, a descendant of Trevor and Sypha. A teaser trailer was released in mid-2022, giving viewers a glimpse of what the sequel has in store. It features Richter in his iconic blue uniform holding what appears to be the Vampire Killer whip, while many different voices speak in the background. Castlevania stars James Callis as Alucard/Adrian, Richard Armitage as Trevor Belmont, Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha Belnades and Graham McTavish as Vlad Dracula Tepes. All 32 episodes of the series are available to stream on Netflix.
