Still Game star Greg Hemphill will unveil new sketch show on Hogmanay as part of BBC’s festive programme

STILL Game star Greg Hemphill will unveil his new sketch show as part of BBC Scotland’s festive offerings.

Queen of the New Year will star Greg and Robert Florence along with Scotland’s best established and up and coming comedians Barbara Rafferty Clive Russell Gayle Telfer Stevens Louise McCarthy John Gordon Sinclair and Juliet Cadzow.National treasure Jackie Bird takes to the road again to recognise those who go above and beyond to help people around them in Scotlands People 2021 A Thank You. She will be joined by well known faces such as Gary Lineker, Martin Compston Mark Bonnar Sharleen Spiteri  Fran Healy Andy Robertson, Greg Wise and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

A special tribute to Rangers legend Walter Smith who passed away last month will air on BBC One where those who knew him best will share heartfelt memories.

The Beeb will also be searching for Scotlands Christmas Home of the Year and Scotland’s Best Dog.And of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without comedy.Classics old and new will play but fans will be treated to a new episode of Two Doors Down.Scot Squad will be back with a Hogmanay special.

Viewers can also go back in time with some nostalgia in festive specials of Growing Up Scottish where guests such as Jane McCarry and Judith Ralston will reminisce on the Christmas of their youth. Growing up Scottish will also look at Scotlands unique way of bringing in the New Year.Breaking The News will also look at Scotlands biggest stories and events of 2021.Edith Bowman will take the reins as she takes Scotland into 2022 with Hogmanay 2021.She will be joined by music guests such as Texas, Emeli Sande and Talisk.

On Christmas Eve Sally Magnusson will bring the 400th anniversary of the first Christmas service at Greyfriars Kirk.Bobby Carlyle will also be taking presenter Edi Stark on a whistle-stop tour of his life where he will tell viewers about his upbringing in Maryhill and going to drama school in Glasgow.

On Boxing Day viewers can expect a delve through the archives as Chris Forbes presents My Comedy Choice.Steve Carson Director BBC Scotland said At the end of another challenging year for many people, we hope audiences enjoy our seasonal package of reflection music comedy and entertainment as we see out 2021 in style and look forward to the New Year.
