Tom Felton dresses up as Harry Potter for this Halloween. The actor portrayed the boy wizard’s nemesis, Draco Malfoy, in all eight movies.
Tom Felton opts to dress up as Harry Potter for this Halloween. Though Felton is best known for portraying Harry Potter’s most iconic nemesis, Draco Malfoy of House Slytherin, he has successfully branched out from the Wizarding World since the film series ended in 2011. Felton has appeared in another successful franchise in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The CW series The Flash, and the YouTube Premium series Origin.
It has understandably been difficult for many to unsee Felton as Draco, like many of the young actors who got their start in the Harry Potter franchise. Outside the Golden Trio of Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), Felton remains one of the series’ most recognizable faces. Despite his status as a spoiled bully and constant warring with the three protagonists, Draco remains a fan-favorite character, some of whom are entertained by his impish ways and others who argue he is a tragic and sympathetic figure.
Now, for this past Halloween, Felton decided to ditch Draco’s Slytherin robes to dress up as his onscreen adversary, the boy wizard Harry Potter. The 34-year-old actor revealed his costume in an Instagram post, which includes Harry’s signature round glasses and lighting-bolt scar, a Gryffindor tie, and black and red wizard robes. His dog, Willow, is also seen by his side sporting a red and yellow Gryffindor scarf, hence the photo’s caption, “wtf dad.” Check out the post below:
Last month, Felton experienced a health scare when he collapsed at a celebrity golf tournament. Thankfully, the situation was not that serious and he was seen out and about soon after. Felton also personally assured fans that he was on the mend, though he didn’t specify what caused him to collapse. Based on this more recent photo, Felton appears to be in good spirits as he participates in the Halloween festivities.
Felton has a few intriguing projects lined up, but anytime a former Harry Potter actor suits up again in character (even if it’s not their own), it will arouse suspicions about a reprisal or some form of reunion, which Felton has been spearheading. The next installment in the Wizarding World franchise will be Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. After that, there’s no telling what Warner Bros. has planned. It could potentially be an adaptation of the stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which Felton has also said he would be game for.
