Jennifer Aniston said it was ‘time’ to have a baby with ex-husband Brad Pitt – but they broke up and she was left sobbing ‘silent tears’ when he started a family with Angelina Jolie
Jennifer Aniston is reportedly set to drop some bombshell baby news during the Friends reunion show.
During the emotional reunion, it’s claimed the actress felt it was the perfect time to announce her wonderful adoption news while surrounded by her former co-stars and close friends.
Many people will be thrilled by the news, especially as Jen had heartbreakingly spoken about baby plans with her ex-husband Brad Pitt before their shock split.
She was then left sobbing ‘silent tears’ during a painful interview while discussing Brad starting a family with his new partner, Angelina Jolie.
Back in 2004, the Friends star revealed it was “time” to have kids with the Hollywood actor just weeks before they broke up.
“It’s time. It’s time. You know, I think you can work with a baby, I think you can work pregnant, I think you can do all of it. So I’m just truly looking forward to slowing down,”
Explaining how the timing seemed right, Jennifer added: “I’ll have finished Friends by end of January, he’ll be finishing [Mr. and Mrs. Smith] at the end of February.
It was on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith where Brad met Angelina and fell in love, although the pair have always insisted there was no affair.
Floored Jen was utterly devastated when Brad left her in January 2005 and admitted she’d hoped to work through their problems as a couple.
Later that year in September, Jennifer was asked about Brad’s new romance and the possibility that Angelina was already pregnant before their divorce was even finalised.
The reporter said Jen cried silently for several minutes, unable to stop the tears rolling down her cheeks before shaking her head.
They described how the actress looked like she had been “stabbed in the heart” and was too hurt to give an answer.
When asked whether she believed the gossip that Brad and Ange had had a full-blown affair, Jennifer defiantly said: “I choose to believe my husband.
“At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised by anything, but I would much rather choose to believe him.”
However, the strength of her belief was shaken when pictured surfaced of Brad playing the doting dad to Angelina’s adopted son Maddox on the beach in Africa on April 29.
“I would be a robot if I said I didn’t feel moments of anger, of hurt, of embarrassment,” she said.
“I just don’t know what happened. There’s a lot I don’t understand, a lot I don’t know, and probably never will know, really.
“I have to think there’s some reason I have called this into my life,” she added. “I have to believe that – otherwise it’s just cruel.”
Despite her devastation, Jennifer admitted she “felt lucky to have experienced” her marriage to Brad.
Jen went on to tie the knot with second husband Justin Theroux, although they have now split, and rumours of adopting a child from Casa Hogar Sion swirled back in 2011.
However, she had always remained tight-lipped on her baby plans and denied such reports in the past.
In 2018, Jen gave a candid interview where she hinted at fertility struggles “behind closed doors” after speculation about whether she would have a baby.
The actress hit out at the pressure on women to become mothers as she questioned whether her purpose on the planet was something else.
She told InStyle magazine : “There is a pressure on women to be mothers, and if they are not, then they’re deemed damaged goods. Maybe my purpose on this planet isn’t to procreate. Maybe I have other things I’m supposed to do?”
Jen fuelled baby rumours last year when she said: “I hear laughter, I see kids running,” in her future despite being single at the time.
Now it’s claimed she announced her amazing adoption news during filming of the Friends reunion special last week.
Jen reportedly started the adoption process last year – with former co-star Courteney Cox alongside side her through it all and even planning her baby shower.
Sources tell Closer that the emotional reunion prompted Jen to drop news that she has decided to adopt a baby girl from Mexican orphanage, Casa Hogar Sion.
Jen is a long-time supporter of the orphanage and close pals says the adoption process will be finalised in June and she will be able to take her baby home.
