f you’ve ever wondered whether blondes really do have more fun, you may want to ask Billie Eilish.
The 19-year-old singer, who took home two Grammy Awards on Sunday night including record of the year, announced on Instagram Wednesday that she’s parted ways with her signature green and black hairstyle.
In the video, Eilish whips back her head to reveal her bright blond hairdo, before flashing a cheeky grin at the camera.
Eilish also posted a picture of herself with her new blond locks, which she captioned “pinch me,” a likely reference to ditching her neon green streaks just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
“BYE GREEEEEN,” she added on her Instagram Stories.
In a December Instagram Story, captured by Twitter user @BILLIEEILISH123, the singer (dropping a few expletives) teased that she would dye her hair after the release of her documentary “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry,” which came out on Feb. 26.
“I’m changing it after the doc comes out,” she said. “It’ll be the end of an era.”
Before debuting her new look, Eilish prepped fans for the change via her Instagram on Tuesday, writing, “can you guess what color?”
It’s safe to say blond was not every fan’s first guess.
“I THOUGHT IT WAS RED BUT IM VERY HAPPILY WRONG,” wrote one user.
Another commenter was skeptical.
“I bet you she’s just bleaching it first and is about to dye it something different,”
The pop wunderkind won record of the year for the second time in a row at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, though she said in her acceptance speech the honor should have gone to Megan Thee Stallion for “Savage,” the Houston rapper’s collaboration with Beyoncé.
“This is really embarrassing for me … you deserve this,” Eilish told Megan Thee Stallion. “You had a year that was untoppable. You are a queen. I want to cry thinking about how much I love you. You are so beautiful. You are so talented. You deserve everything in the world.”
